Board Of Directors
Barry Marr – President
Our President, Barry Marr, has lived in Omemee for 25 years. He worked in Toronto’s food industry for more than 39 years. His last 24 years as a supervisor provided him with the expertise to head the Board of Directors of the Omemee Medical Centre. Although retired, Barry currently works as a ranger at Heron Landing Golf course in Peterborough where he efficiently organizes a 68-member league. He is actively involved in the community as Chairman of the Legacy C.H.E.S.T. Fund, belongs to the Omemee Lions and volunteers on the Omemee section of the Trans Canada Trail.
Barry was recently honored to carry the Olympic Torch in Omemee due to his extensive volunteer work in the community. He said, ” It was an extreme honour to do so and it gave a feeling that is hard to describe. While I was asked to carry the torch, I felt as though I was carrying it as a representative of our Board and all other volunteers in the community”.
The goal of the Omemee Medical Centre is to one day have no one in the area without a family doctor.
